The heart chakra, also known as the anahata chakra, is the fourth primary chakra in Hindu Yogic, Shakta, and Buddhist Tantric traditions. It's located in the chest, heart, and cardiac plexus, and is associated with love, balance, and compassion. When the heart chakra is open and full of energy, a person may feel loving, empathetic, peaceful, and balanced.
Some say that a blocked heart chakra can lead to feelings of grief, anger, jealousy, fear of betrayal, and hatred. When underactive, it may be difficult to forgive or get over past hurts.
An open heart chakra, or Anahata, is a source of unconditional love and joy.
