The crown chakra, also known as the Sahasrara chakra, is the seventh energy center in the chakra system and is located at the top of the head. It is represented by the color white or violet and the element of Divine Consciousness. The name Sahasrara comes from the Sanskrit word for "thousands" and refers to the lotus flower with a thousand petals, each representing a different aspect of being.
The crown chakra is associated with spiritual connection and transformation, and is said to be the point where the earthly self merges with the higher self. It is believed to provide a gateway to faith, divine wisdom, and spiritual enlightenment, and to help people feel more connected to others, animals, plants, and subtle energies. When fully balanced, the crown chakra is said to allow people to access higher consciousness, connect with spiritual realms, and experience enlightenment.
This
chakra is all about spiritual connection and transformation. It lifts and inspires you, connecting you to the divine (you might call this angelic energy, the Source, or God.) This chakra also gives you a sense of your own divinity, the awareness that you are a soul in a human body.
When your crown chakra isn’t shining, you can feel disconnected from your spirituality, and nothing much inspires you. Without the crown chakra energy, to lift you beyond ordinary existence, your life can also feel a bit flat and meaningless.
With a high functioning Crown Chakra the energy around it feels very clean and clear, like mountain air. You might feel a deep sense of trust that you are connected, and that the universe is looking after you. You might feel a benign detachment, as though you can rise above your earthly problems. You might also feel a sense of euphoria, wonderment and calm.
